What would happen, if ...

Though we've produced all sorts of bright ideas and suggestions for dozenal digits and names, devised all our clever metrological schemes for base twelve, and even sketched out imaginative ideas for artifacts needed for base twelve, (clock faces, scales and so on) ... we haven't written anything special about the implications of the change of number base we advocate.

So ....

What would a base twelve world be like? In the following pages we'll explore living with the new base, cutting off all ties to base ten, almost like a stranger in a foreign land. Just like learning a foreign language we will have to learn a new vocabulary, and if it's a foreign land we'd have different units of measurement, money and the like. How would one add, subtract, multiply, divide, measure distance, weight, and temperature?

So there you have it.What would happen if...

If we changed to base twelve now and tomorrow you woke up to your first day in the new world?

You can get used to living like a European and adjust to their money and metrics - but how will you adjust to living in a world where the number system and everything that depends on it is different?

So here we go, then; lions and tigers and bears, o my, off to jump in the Deep End? Then proceed to Day One, the Top Springboard and breathe in deep...

And, by the way, we're still working on this section..., not very fast, I admit, but we're still working on it.
